Time To Rant!
tonight's topic: the Duggar family.
once upon a time they were a corky family with 14 kids and about to have another one. but before you could even blink your eyes, they had a granddaughter & were pregnant with baby # 19.
no i have to make sure people understand that used to love watching the show and found them super adorable and such. also i'm not here to question their faith and what they choose to do with their life, i'm just voicing my opinion.
in caseyou're not aware of their belief it's that all children are gifts from god (i have to beg to differ on that once, considering some kids are little demons) and that should always be welcomed to a family. so far sounds pretty normal, right? wrong. if you go to their website they tell the story about how after they had their first child she went on the pill but ended up getting pregnant anyways but wasn't aware so kept taking the pill and because of it she had a miscarriage. now if you have the slightest bit of common knowledge you know that that can happen. but after the incident they came to the conclusion that they were being selfish by trying to prevent not having children and that the miscarriage was god punishing them. can you say extreme much?
now i may not be a christian, but i went to church enough to know that god gave you freewill and he'll understand if you choose to do certain things with your life. i HIGHLY doubt he's going to kill your child because you chose that you weren't ready for another child just yet. but whatever, not the point.
so she is 43 years old, it's been proven that if you have a child after 40 there are greater chances of there being complications for you & the child (check out sarah palin's baby). but she got pregnant with her 19th child and they were all happy and dandy. well she got pregnancy indused high blood pressure (so did my mom when she was having me) and was forced to have the baby 3 months early.
drs told her it was because of her age and the fact that she has had so many other kids before.
the poor tiny baby was born in december and only came home on june 21. but even though she's home, she's attached at all times to an oxygen tank and a heart monitor.
now if you have fertily problems and were only to have your first child at 43 and all these complications happened, i can understand and feel very sorry for you but be happy that you have your baby. but that's not the case with the duggars.
i honestly think they only keep having kids for the publicity. they were SELFISH in having that baby. and now they're on the cover of people magazine saying how they are ready for kids! you have to be shitting me! (pardon my language)
you have 19 kids, all who are about 1 year apart. you don't have time to give them all attention and end up dumping a lot of the stuff on the older kids.
plus the way they raise their kids, in my opinion, is wrong! how can you say girls can't wear pants or cut their hair. your kids can't go to normal school and make friends. they can't date or have a first kiss until their wedding night! like how is that normal?? are we living in the 1800's again? the only kids they meet are the other families who are just like them and when they go to homeschooling coventions. they say they are each other's friends. that's just wrong.
those kids won't know how to function in regular society and will go own to raise their families in that same manner.
but back to them wanting another child. they said that every week they have a date night. good for them. and you don't have to get in birth control, but have sex less often and in a manner that will not get her pregnant (i felt awkward typing that haha). it's so selfish of them to put a poor child at risk for their sake.
i think that if you're 40 and have had at least 5 kids and then randomly decided to have another and it has complications, you should be arrested. you could kill a child. it's horrible that they don't think about these things.
